April and May feel completely different from each other, even though both are equally pleasant. Winter and summer are the real no-gos. November through February gets genuinely cold and grey — we're talking 2–8°C (36–46°F) with overcast skies that make the city feel almost abandoned. July and August? Expect 32–35°C (90–95°F) and a dusty wind that makes sitting in a café less romantic and more exhausting. Plus, many smaller museums and family-run guesthouses have reduced hours or close entirely during peak summer heat.
