The best months to visit Nuremberg are May, June, July, August. Late November through December 24 Christkindlesmarkt is the original German Christmas market with a child angel opening ceremony and Lebkuchen from Wicklein.

August runs the highest averages in Nuremberg, with typical daytime highs of 25°C (78°F). July 28C peaks; locals swim at Wohrder See, drink Rotbier at Kettensteg beer garden overlooking the Pegnitz, and cycle the Frankische Schweiz.

January brings the lowest averages, with daytime highs near 4°C (39°F). January -3C with regular snow; the Kaiserburg empty, Documentation Center at former Nazi rally grounds has heat and history, and gluhwein continues.
